Logo Design Contest for First Nations Carbon Toolkit

Are you a creative looking to use your art for climate action?

The British Columbia Assembly of First Nations and Ecotrust Canada are partnering to build a First Nations Carbon Toolkit website, Carbontoolkit.org. The toolkit will be a free and accessible educational resource built for First Nations communities in BC interested in learning more about carbon, climate change and developing land-based carbon offset projects while exercising First Nations’ inherent and constitutionally protected title and rights. We are seeking a youth artist to design a logo for our website. If you are a First Nations youth under 30 in Canada, we want to see your original designs! Send us a logo that you feel represents Indigenous-led conservation that centers community stewardship and keeps carbon out of the atmosphere and stored in our landscapes.

One (1) winning design will be awarded CAD$5,000. The winning design will be used on the website and for other promotional purposes. The winning artist will also be featured on the First Nations Carbon Toolkit website.

The contest is open from 12:01 am on March 1, 2023, and closes at 11:59 pm on April 15, 2023 (PST).

Submission Details

Design Specifications

  • Submit one (1) design of the logo, and include two (2) variations that can be used independently: a standalone icon, and a wordmark of “First Nations Carbon Toolkit” on its own.

  • You can submit your design by taking a photo of your original design on an artboard, or vectorized files.

  • The minimum size for any of your submission files should be no smaller than 2 inches;

Where

  • Enter the contest by filling out the Entry Form and submitting your artwork;

  • Include a brief bio of yourself and the meaning behind your logo design in the Entry Form;

  • The contest is open from 12:01 am on March 1, 2023, and closes at 11:59 pm on April 15, 2023 (PST).
